De verse kruiden die je nodig hebt kun je bij de toko kopen. Daarnaast heb je een vijzel of een keukenmolentje nodig om de kruiden fijn te malen, zodat je een geurige boemboe kunt maken. Een boemboe is essentieel voor het maken van een rendang. Het stoofgerecht laat je een aantal uurtjes op het vuur staan\u00a0 sudderen, zodat het vlees heel mals is en alle kruiden en smaken tot zijn recht kunnen komen. Deze rendang is van Karel Baarspul, hij is geboren in Indonesi\u00eb en vertelde dat zijn moeder altijd Indonesisch voor hem kookte. Wij noemen dit gerecht hier bij ons thuis Boemboe Karel en er blijft nooit iets over, als ik zijn recept maak, zo lekker is het! De volgende tekst is van Karel zelf, die hij op Facebook zette:\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Zullen we nog eens rendang (klemtoon op de tweede lettergreep) gaan maken? Heel simpel, veel kruiden en super lekker. Een grote ui, veel knoflook, peper, 2 theelepels ketoembar (koriander), 1 theelepel djinten (komijnzaad), 1 theelepel koenjit (curcuma), stuk (halve duim lang) verse gember, idem stuk verse laos (verse laos en djahe, altijd in de vriezer in stukjes!), eetlepel trassi en een Spaanse peper (of meer). Alles in de blender.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ruim een pond runderlappen even aanbraden. Daarna in blokjes.&nbsp; Kruiden (boemboe) aanbraden en vlees in blokjes erbij. Even braden. Spriet sereh erbij met 5 blaadjes djeroek perut (citroen)&nbsp; en pakje santen (kokosmelk) met een bouillonblokje. Stuk Javaanse suiker (goelah djawa of 5 eetlepers rietsuiker) erbij. Beetje water toevoegen. Vlees moet een beetje onder water staan. Een borrel inschenken, ergens op je gemak gaan zitten, de boel in de gaten houden en een uur of 2 laten pruttelen. Af en toe roeren en nog een borrel in de kok gieten. Nog \u00e9\u00e9n of twee borrels mag ook. Na 2 uur deksel van de pan en in 15 minuten inkoken totdat het mengsel vrijwel half droog staat. Pan wegzetten en over twee dagen eten en\/of invriezen in porties. Man man, wat lekker.
